District Manager (Food Retail)

Primary Purpose:

Currently we are launching a new venture in Latvia-Riga, to help retail professional to market products exclusively made by local farmers and small producers. For this purpose we are creating a chain of farm-shops and looking for open minded, crazy enough professionals to create something unique in the industry.

District Manager (DM) is responsible for delivering profitable growth of sales and services within the Riga district. The DM is responsible for creating a high performing team of Store Managers and Store associates. This position leads a team on opening new shops as well as monitoring daily tasks and setting sales and services goals.

Core Responsibilities:

• Planning, developing and monitoring farm-shops in Riga, including new shops opening (farm shops is up to 40 m2 in size and has 2-3 salespersons per shop).
• Maintain a constant presence in shops to:

a) implement and maintain operational quality standards within shops;

b) serve as champion and role-model for all team members, who are assembled by DM itself and;

c) ensure smooth opening procedures of new farm-shops within the region.

• Continuously review key performance indicators, analyze by-store results and improve them according to the business plan.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field preferred, or equivalent years of related experience. (2+ years previous experience as food store manager/restaurant manager/regional manager of number of food stores or restaurants.)
• Proven track record of increasing sales and store profitability.
• Organization and time management skills. This includes forward planning on a daily/weekly/monthly basis, keeping and routinely working active “To-Do” lists prioritized based on changing business needs, and being adaptable without compromising work quality (preferably as store or restaurant manager/ regional manager).
• Strong skills in staffing performance management.
• A high level of administrative competence with ability to meet deadlines.
• Good working knowledge of food retail regulations in Latvia.
• English language/Russian language.
