PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

Assist the Financial Controller/Heads of Departments in auditing & identifying specified costs in order to ensure that the appropriate internal control procedures are in place and followed and that equipment and resources are employed in the most effective manner. All work is carried out in line with the hotels Standard Operating Procedures, the annual Business Plan and Radisson Hotel Group guidelines & service concepts.

Key Responsibilities of the Cost Controller:

  • Provide analysis of F&B, Engineering and Rooms stores consumption to handle the ordering of Food and Beverage / Engineering / Rooms as accurately as possible.
  • Analyze all F&B, Engineering and Rooms costs on a monthly basis and making recommendation of alternatives on cost savings.
  • Look after the stock movements of food and beverage, Engineering/Rooms items in the inventory both in store and in operations.
  • Maintain the food and Beverage costs updated on a daily basis.
  • Establish and maintain a database for food and beverage inventory stock including up-to-date pricing.
  • Supervision and involvement in Spot checks, monthly complete stock taking in all the stores, all the beverage outlets month end inventories, menu costing, cost savings initiatives.
  • Review and placing orders for general stores, movement of general stores supplies based on occupancy level (all departments).
  • Coordinate, attend and monitor all food and beverage/Rooms physical inventories to ensure Ensure proper storage and issuance of all food and beverage, Engineering / Rooms items.
  • Establish and maintain a cost allocation transfer system for food and beverage, Engineering /Rooms supplies to the various Carry out spot-checks on the hotel stores rotating stock-takes.
  • Assist management in menu costing in order to establish menu item sale Approve all store requisitions.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Organize, secure, and maintain all files, records, cash and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Record, store, access, and/or analyze computerized financial information.
  • Maintain accurate electronic spreadsheets for financial and accounting data.
  • Classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records.
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables.
  • Complete period-end closing procedures and reports as specified.
  • Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements according to company procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all legislation where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as required.
  • Control the purchasing, procurement prices of hotel supplies, food and beverage, technical items. Prevent department to purchase expensive items over the market prices. Encourage and control purchasing to make saving before buying. Prepare monthly purchasing items list including prices and costs and share with respective Inform Financial Controller if there is a cost increase, take actions like finding alternative suppliers, alternative products.

Requirements of the Cost Controller

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently.
  • Minimum 3 years of managerial accounting and finance.
  • Experience in hospitality or food service is a advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a simi- lar field.
  • Hands-on approach with a can-do work style.
  • Ability to find creative solutions taking ownership for duties and tasks assigned.
  • Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence.
  • Experience of working with IT systems on various platforms.
  • Strong communication skills.
